EPCA 1673 Sherwood Park consists of 292 sub-blocks covering an area of 980km2 within the Eromanga Basin of central Qld. Petroleum well, waterbore, and seismic line data in the area indicate the possibility of extensive, shallow Late Cretaceous Winton Formation coals. Data from the EMU Creek 1 Petroleum Well, show a total coal thickness of 33m from 80-140m in the south, while waterbore data in the northeast indicate the coal to be from 43-135m deep. Resolve will undertake an exploration program to ascertain the extent of the Winton Formation coal seams for a possible shallow thermal coal product, as well as a possible in-situ coal liquefaction resource in the northern section of the lease. EPCA 1673 is close to rail, road and pipeline infrastructure.
