The Bully Creek application was lodged on the 12th May 2009 as part of a strategy aimed at identifying thermal coal associated with the Betts Creek Beds which have been interpreted to outcrop along the north east margin of the Galilee Basin. EPCA 1754 consists of 49 sub blocks covering a total area of 168 Sq Kilometers. Geo referenced map images and seismic lines within the region indicate Permian sediments extend further east than previously modeled. Nearby coal quality results from the View Hill and the Mirtna drilling programs indicate moderate ash values, low sulphur and excellent ash fusion characteristics.
